Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026
These terms cover your use of the ZeroRetake website at zeroretake.com, the ZeroRetake mobile app, the online practice that comes with a ZeroRetake book, and the ZeroRetake connector that AI assistants can use (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to these terms. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Short version. ZeroRetake makes study material for certification and state exams. Our books are sold on Amazon; the printed code in a book unlocks its online practice at no extra cost. All-Access, sold in the ZeroRetake app through Apple, opens every certification exam while it is active. The material is for your own study. Please don’t copy or scrape it, and remember that no study aid can guarantee a passing score.
What we provide
- Books. ZeroRetake paperbacks and Kindle editions are sold through Amazon. Purchases, payment, delivery, returns and refunds are handled by Amazon under its own terms.
- Online practice. Each book includes a printed code that unlocks that exam’s online practice on zeroretake.com at no extra cost. Access is for the owner of the book.
- All-Access. A paid plan, sold in the ZeroRetake app, that opens the online practice for every certification exam we offer while it is active. See Subscriptions and App Store purchases below.
- Free updates. Registered books receive the free digital updates described on our updates page, which sets out that promise and its scope.
- Free material. Some material, such as public sample questions and exam overviews, is free to everyone.
- AI assistant connector and catalogue API. A read-only connector (https://zeroretake.com/api/mcp) and a public catalogue (https://zeroretake.com/api/v1/catalog) let AI assistants look up our books, exam blueprints and free sample questions for their users. They answer only from information we already publish, need no account, and sell nothing.
Your account and access
If you sign in, keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. Unlocked practice is personal to you: please don’t share your code or account so that others can use practice they have not obtained.
Subscriptions and App Store purchases
What All-Access includes. All-Access opens the full online practice for every certification exam ZeroRetake offers while your plan is active, in the ZeroRetake app and on zeroretake.com when you are signed in with the same account. The list of exams can change over time. All-Access is tied to your ZeroRetake account, so you must sign in before you buy.
Plans. All-Access is sold in the ZeroRetake app through Apple’s In-App Purchase in three forms:
- Monthly, an auto-renewing subscription billed every month;
- Annual, an auto-renewing subscription billed every year;
- 3-Month Exam Pass, a one-time purchase that gives 90 days of access from the date of purchase and does not renew.
Prices are shown in the app before you buy and are charged in your local currency. There is no free trial. Access starts once Apple confirms the payment.
Billing and auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Monthly and Annual plans renew automatically at the end of each period, and your Apple Account is charged for the next period, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone or iPad: Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions), or from Manage subscription on the app’s Account screen. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. After you cancel, All-Access stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app or your ZeroRetake account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds. App Store purchases are billed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s own refund policy. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves. To ask for one, contact Apple, for example at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the All-Access it paid for ends.
When All-Access ends. When a subscription expires or is cancelled and its paid period runs out, or when a 3-Month Exam Pass reaches 90 days, All-Access stops opening exams. Your account stays open. Exams you unlocked with a book code stay unlocked, the free samples stay free, and your practice history stays on your account until you delete it. You can buy All-Access again at any time.
Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the app or use a new device, sign in with the same ZeroRetake account and tap Restore purchases. A purchase can be restored only to the ZeroRetake account that made it.
Book codes. A ZeroRetake book unlocks that book’s exam at no extra cost, separately from All-Access. Scan the code printed in your book, or go to zeroretake.com/unlock and prove you own the book, then sign in with the same email in the app to use it there. A book unlock does not need a subscription and is not affected when one ends.
Fair use. All-Access is for one person. The same per-hour and per-day practice limits apply to every account, and the rules in “How you may use our material” below apply in full.
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the Services or their content. Your purchase is also subject to Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.
How you may use our material
Our questions, explanations, study guides, covers and other material are owned by ZeroRetake and protected by copyright. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial study. You may not:
- copy, republish, sell or share our questions or explanations, in whole or in large part;
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract material from the Services, by hand or with automated tools, including through the connector or the API, or use it to build a competing question bank or to train or evaluate a machine-learning model;
- get around access limits, ownership checks or other protections, or overload or disrupt the Services.
AI assistants may use the connector and the API to help their users one request at a time, and may show the results to those users. Doing so gives no right to store or redistribute our material in bulk.
Study aid, not a guarantee
We work to keep our material accurate and aligned with each exam’s published objectives, but exams change and mistakes can happen. The Services are provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that using them will lead to a passing score or a certification. If you find an error, tell us at the address below and we will look at it.
Independence from exam vendors
ZeroRetake is independent exam prep. We are not affiliated with, authorized, endorsed by, or sponsored by any certification body, exam vendor or state education agency. Our questions are original practice questions, not actual exam questions. Exam and product names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe what our material prepares you for.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ZeroRetake is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the Services, including exam fees, retake costs or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
Suspension
We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, for example by scraping material or sharing access codes.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
